Portugal Wins Nigeria 2-1 In International Friendly.

Francisco Conceicao scored the decisive goal as Portugal secured a 2-1 victory over Nigeria in an international friendly on Wednesday night, wrapping up their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on a winning note.

Portugal started brightly and took the lead through Pedro Neto, who found the back of the net to put the hosts ahead. However, the Super Eagles responded before the break, with Akor Adams scoring the equalizer to ensure both sides went into halftime level.

The second half saw Roberto Martinez’s side regain control, and Conceicao delivered the winning goal to hand Portugal a deserved victory in Leiria.

Portugal dominated much of the contest, enjoying 58 percent possession and registering 13 attempts on goal compared to Nigeria’s five. Despite their superiority, the Europeans were unable to convert several chances and could have won by a wider margin.

Nevertheless, the result provided a positive end to Portugal’s World Cup preparations, with players gaining valuable match fitness ahead of their Group K opener against DR Congo in Houston.
