Putin Moves Daughters Into Fortified Valdai Palace Amid Assassination Fears.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly ordered his two eldest daughters to relocate to his heavily guarded Valdai palace, citing fears of potential assassination attempts, according to a recent investigation.

Maria Vorontsova, 41, and Katerina Tikhonova, 39, have moved into the forested palace complex, located approximately 230 miles northwest of Moscow. The relocation also includes their children, bringing them under the same roof as the Russian leader.

The palace, already home to Putin’s partner Alina Kabaeva and their two young sons, has been transformed into one of Russia’s most secure locations. According to sources, the Valdai complex now features 27 towers equipped with anti-aircraft systems—up from just seven two years ago—arranged in two protective rings reminiscent of Moscow’s defensive layout. The mansion is further secured by dozens of air defense systems and is strategically situated on a peninsula between two lakes, surrounded by dense forest.

Reports indicate that Putin has ordered a thorough review of Russia’s extensive surveillance camera network, fearing potential hacks that could compromise his safety. The Financial Times noted that the system was temporarily disconnected from the internet and only restored after engineers confirmed its security.

Vorontsova, an endocrinologist, and Tikhonova, a key figure in Russia’s science and technology sector, are daughters of Putin and former Russian first lady Lyudmila Putina, who divorced the president in 2014. A third alleged daughter, Luiza Rozova, 23, is believed to live primarily in Paris with her mother, Svetlana Krivinogikh, a former cleaner turned businesswoman.

The move comes amid growing concerns over Russian security as Ukrainian drones and missiles continue to penetrate deeper into Russian territory. Sources also suggest the mansion includes a secret bunker for emergency situations.
