Real Madrid Confirm Signing Of Ibrahima Konaté.

Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of former Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté, marking a major addition to their summer transfer rebuild.

In a statement released by the club, the Spanish giants confirmed that the 27-year-old French international has agreed a four-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 2030.

“Real Madrid CF and Ibrahima Konaté have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030,” the club stated.

The move sees Konaté join Madrid’s ongoing squad restructuring project, with the centre-back arriving as one of the key defensive reinforcements. He is currently representing France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, adding international tournament experience to his profile as he prepares for his new challenge in Spain.

Konaté becomes the latest high-profile arrival in what is shaping up to be a busy window for the club. He joins Bernardo Silva and Marc Cucurella as part of what reports describe as José Mourinho’s first signings since returning for a second spell in charge at the Bernabéu.

The French defender departs Liverpool after five seasons at Anfield, where he made 183 appearances since joining from RB Leipzig in 2021. During his time with the Reds, he played a key role in their domestic success, winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and two League Cup titles.
