"News PlatformNG" reports that the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has called on the Federal Government to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Ayodele made the appeal while addressing members of his congregation in a video that has gone viral on Saturday, where he argued that continued detention of Kanu could raise concerns about fairness and consistency in governance.
The cleric further stated that if the government decides not to release Kanu, then similar action should also be taken against Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, suggesting that selective treatment of public figures could undermine public trust.
“Try and release Nnamdi Kanu,” he said, urging the authorities to reconsider their stance.
He maintained that differing treatment of the two controversial figures could prompt questions about the government’s sincerity in handling sensitive national issues.
Ayodele also warned that public unrest could escalate if growing grievances among citizens are not properly addressed, adding that “Protest will seize this Tinubu government.”
