Rufai Oseni Slams Remi Tinubu's Akara Comment.

Journalist and broadcaster with Arise News, Rufai Oseni has criticised recent remarks by Nigeria's First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, urging Nigerians to embrace small-scale businesses such as selling akara and kuli-kuli as a way to improve their livelihoods.

Speaking during The Morning Show on Arise News, Oseni said the First Lady's comments had drawn strong reactions from many Nigerians, especially on social media.

Reacting to the statement, the journalist argued that women should not be told to lower their aspirations. He said other women should be able to own cars and pursue bigger ambitions instead of being encouraged to settle for selling akara.

The comments came after the First Lady promoted small businesses as a means of economic empowerment, a message that has continued to divide public opinion.

While some Nigerians praised the initiative as a way of encouraging entrepreneurship and self-reliance, others said the advice did not reflect the economic challenges many citizens are currently facing.
