A joint security operation under Operation Fansan Yamma has successfully foiled a bandit attack, rescued 14 kidnapped victims, and recovered stolen livestock and motorcycles, according to security authorities.
Speaking on the operation, Rufai disclosed that the security personnel involved were drawn from multiple agencies, including troops of the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and members of the Community Guards Corps.
He said the coordinated operation prevented the attackers from carrying out their mission and led to the safe rescue of 14 victims who had been abducted by suspected bandits.
In addition to the rescue, security operatives recovered several livestock and motorcycles believed to have been stolen during criminal activities in the affected areas.
Rufai described the operation as part of sustained efforts under Operation Fansan Yamma to combat banditry and other security threats across Nigeria's North-West region.
He noted that the ongoing security campaign is focused on dismantling criminal networks, protecting communities, and restoring peace and stability in areas affected by armed attacks and kidnappings.
