Two Arrested Over Death Of Woman Hit By Speeding Convoy Vehicle In Port Harcourt.

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the death of a young woman, identified as Eno Udosen, who was fatally struck by a speeding vehicle in a convoy near the Rivers State University campus in Port Harcourt.

The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, when the victim was reportedly knocked down by one of the vehicles in the convoy. Witnesses said Udosen sustained severe head injuries after being thrown to the ground by the impact of the collision.

According to sources familiar with the incident, some occupants of the convoy allegedly fled the scene after realizing the victim had died.

An eyewitness revealed that security personnel attached to the university, alongside police officers, responded swiftly by securing all exit points around the campus.

“The security personnel attached to the university and the police were immediately alerted, and they quickly cordoned off all exit points from the campus,” the eyewitness said.

Police operatives from the Nkpolu Police Division, working in collaboration with the university’s security team, later arrested two suspects identified as Onunaka and Daniel. The suspects were reportedly driving a Toyota Camry Spider and a Mercedes-Benz E300, respectively.

Sources indicated that both suspects may be students of Rivers State University. They are currently being held at the Nkpolu Police Division in the Mile 3 area of Diobu, Port Harcourt, while the remains of the deceased have been deposited in a mortuary.

Confirming the development on Wednesday, Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, Blessing Agabe, said investigations into the incident are ongoing.

“Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, while the woman’s corpse has been retrieved and deposited in the mortuary,” Agabe stated.

“So, yes, I can confirm the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.”

The incident has sparked concern among residents and members of the university community, with many calling for a thorough investigation to ensure accountability and justice for the deceased.
