The United States Mission in Nigeria has advised Nigerians travelling to the US to strictly follow immigration laws and comply with the conditions attached to their visas.
In a message shared on its official X page on Monday, the mission urged Nigerians visiting, studying, or working in the United States to respect the terms of their visas and avoid overstaying their approved period of stay.
According to the mission, obeying US immigration regulations helps travellers protect future opportunities and prevents issues that could affect their ability to travel later.
The US Mission advised visa holders to remain within the period approved by immigration authorities and ensure that all travel documents remain valid and up to date throughout their stay.
It noted that compliance with visa conditions is important for anyone entering the United States, regardless of the purpose of travel, whether for education, employment, or tourism.
The mission further stated that following immigration procedures benefits both visitors and the host country, adding that travellers should make responsible decisions that protect their future plans and aspirations.
The reminder comes as US authorities continue to pay close attention to visa compliance and regularly caution foreign nationals against breaking immigration rules or violating the terms of their visas.
