APC To British Delegation: Ignore Adeleke's Claims On Osun Violence.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of presenting what it described as a distorted account of the state's security situation to a visiting British delegation ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

The party alleged that the governor misrepresented incidents of political violence during a meeting with the delegation led by Senior Political Adviser, Wale Adebajo, and urged the visitors to disregard allegations made against its leaders and members.

In a statement issued on Monday by the party's Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, the APC criticised Adeleke's reported call for economic sanctions and visa restrictions against the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, APC governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, Director-General of the AMBO Campaign Council, Wole Oke, Senator Francis Fadahunsi and other party leaders.

The opposition party maintained that none of the individuals mentioned had been indicted by any court or investigative panel over allegations of political violence.

The APC further alleged that the governor failed to inform the British delegation about individuals it described as wanted political thugs allegedly being shielded within the Government House.

It also claimed that more than 30 of its members and supporters lost their lives before the 2022 governorship election, while alleging that some aides of the governor are currently facing trial over the killing of a former local government chairman.

The party equally alleged that four of its members were recently killed in Ilesa by suspected political thugs.

The APC urged the British delegation to treat the governor's allegations with caution, insisting that the accusations were politically motivated.
