Delta Activist Accuses Police Officer Of Blackmailing Wife With Nude Videos.

A Delta State-based human rights activist, Israel Joe, has accused a serving police officer, identified as ASP Mieyebo Victor, of allegedly coercing his wife into sending explicit videos and later using the materials to blackmail and harass her.

The allegations were made in a lengthy statement posted on Facebook, where the activist called on the Delta State Police Command to investigate the matter and ensure justice is served.

According to Joe, the officer, who is currently serving in Delta State, met his wife more than two decades ago while he was posted to Ondo State. The couple reportedly have three children together.

The activist alleged that the officer frequently demanded explicit videos from his wife and would become abusive whenever she refused to comply.

Joe further claimed that the situation escalated after the officer allegedly suspected his wife of communicating with another man. He accused the officer of distributing the explicit videos to members of her family, as well as to her secondary school and university alumni groups.

According to the activist, more than 50 explicit files were allegedly shared with different individuals, leaving the woman emotionally distressed and reportedly contemplating suicide.

He also alleged that the woman was physically assaulted after returning to her husband's residence following an attempt at reconciliation.

The activist claimed that the woman subsequently reported the matter to the Area Commander in Ughelli, who allegedly intervened and deleted several explicit videos from the officer's phone.

Joe said he had been assisting the woman after learning of her alleged plans to take her own life and urged the Commissioner of Police in Delta State to investigate the claims and hold anyone found culpable accountable.

As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the allegations, and the accused officer has not publicly responded to the claims.

The allegations have sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians calling for a thorough investigation into the matter and greater protection for victims of domestic abuse and the non-consensual sharing of intimate images.
