Controversial disc jockey and TikTok personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has reportedly been arrested in Ikeja, Lagos, over a viral video in which he allegedly made threatening remarks about Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The development was disclosed by his lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, in a video shared online. According to Stephen, DJ Chicken is currently being held at the Ikeja Police Headquarters. He also suggested that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) may be involved in the case, although this has not been officially confirmed.
"So, DJ Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja and is now at the Ikeja Police Headquarters, but I am very sure it is the DSS. He was arrested in connection with the statement he made some days ago about the son of the president, Seyi Tinubu," Stephen said.
The lawyer appealed to the public, particularly the DJ's supporters and individuals with connections to the Presidency, to intervene and help secure his release.
"Please, fans and well-wishers, people who like Chicken and those who are close to the Presidency, please forgive Chicken. He is not that okay. We are just managing him. Chicken is my own personal project. It is my own way of giving back to society," Stephen said.
He added, "I just picked interest in him as a criminal lawyer. We are just managing him, and he knows. He is still part of society. We are begging, please. Government should forgive him. We will do everything we can. I don't know what to do again. They should please."
DJ Chicken recently sparked widespread reactions on social media after sharing a video in which he allegedly threatened Seyi Tinubu. In the now-viral clip, he said, "Tinubu, you can't win the election. If you win, I will kill Seyi Tinubu. I won't say more than that."
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Police Force nor the Department of State Services has issued an official statement regarding the reported arrest or the allegations.
