Moses Simon Reveals Why Enugu Rangers Refused To Sign Him.

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has shared a personal story about the early days of his football career, saying he missed the chance to sign for Enugu Rangers because of his ethnic background rather than his performance on the pitch.

Speaking during an appearance on Urban Dwells Sports, Simon said he stayed with the club for three months during a trial and believed he had done enough to earn a professional contract. However, the deal never came even though he performed well throughout his time with the team.

According to Simon, another player later arrived at the club and was given a professional contract after only one week of training. He said the decision surprised him because he had spent months with the team and had even served as the player's captain during their time together.

Simon explained that he later found out the reason he was not offered a contract. He said he was told it was because he was not Igbo and that he came from the northern part of the country. He said his football ability was never the problem.

The Nigerian international described the experience as one he had kept to himself for many years. He said it was the first time he had spoken publicly about what happened during his trial with Enugu Rangers, adding that the incident remains one of the most painful moments from the beginning of his football journey.
