The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, August 27, barely a week after the President announced Enitan’s appointment as the successor to Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack.
Enitan’s appointment was announced by the Presidency on August 19, with his assumption of office scheduled to take effect from August 27.
Ahead of his formal takeover, Enitan and his predecessor had visited President Tinubu at the State House on August 21 as part of preparations for the transition.
The new Head of Service, who hails from Osun State, was the most senior serving permanent secretary in the federal civil service at the time of his appointment.
He had served as a permanent secretary for seven years and seven months, with previous postings to the Ministry of Police Affairs, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Office of the Vice-President.
Before his appointment as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Enitan served as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education.
With his assumption of office, Enitan now takes charge of the federal civil service as the Tinubu administration continues its push for reforms aimed at improving efficiency, professionalism and service delivery.
President Tinubu has tasked the new Head of Service with consolidating ongoing reforms and innovations while strengthening professionalism and efficiency across the civil service.
