The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday night, August 8, 2026, less than eight months after the couple held their white wedding.
Details surrounding the incident and the circumstances that may have led to the alleged stabbing remain unclear.
However, it was gathered that Nwaoji was allegedly attacked while he was asleep.
A member of the community, David Amaraizu, who confirmed the incident on Sunday, said residents were shocked by the development.
"We are not aware of any disagreement between the couple before the incident. The woman has been arrested and is currently in police custody, while the deceased's body had been deposited at a morgue," he said.
The alleged incident has left members of the community in shock, with the motive behind the attack yet to be established.
The police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding Nwaoji's death and determine what led to the alleged stabbing.
