The family of a teacher and farmer with the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mohammed Abubakar Ndakpada, has raised alarm over his continued detention by suspected bandits despite allegedly paying N12 million and providing other items demanded for his release.
Ndakpada, a resident of the Lata-Nna community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, was abducted by suspected bandits on July 30, 2026.
According to his family, the kidnappers demanded and received N12 million as ransom, in addition to food, drinks and other items supplied during negotiations for his freedom.
However, the family said Ndakpada has yet to be released despite meeting the demands of his abductors.
The suspected bandits have now allegedly demanded an additional N5 million ransom, further deepening the family’s fears and concerns over the fate of the SUBEB teacher and farmer.
The family appealed for urgent intervention to secure his release and reunite him with his loved ones.
