The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, has expressed deep sadness over the death of the former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Peter Ajang Azi.
Dr. Tsenyil described the passing of the former Speaker on Thursday, 13th August 2026, as a painful loss to his family, the people of Jos North, Plateau State and the entire North Central region.
The NCDC Chief Executive recalled his close working relationship with Rt. Hon. Azi during the Rescue Administration of former Governor Lalong in Plateau State, noting that their collaboration was anchored on a shared commitment to public service and the development of the state.
He described Rt. Hon. Azi as a dedicated grassroots politician and legislator who remained committed to the welfare and aspirations of his constituents, adding that his contributions to the Rescue Administration and the political development of Plateau State would be remembered.
The NCDC Managing Director said Rt. Hon. Peter Ajang Azi was committed to his responsibilities and brought to public service a strong sense of dedication, loyalty and concern for the people.
On behalf of the Governing Board, Management and Staff of the North Central Development Commission, the MD/CEO extends heartfelt condolences to the Azi family, the people of Jos North, his colleagues and associates, and the Government and people of Plateau State.
Dr. Tsenyil urged the family and all those mourning the former Speaker to take solace in his legacy of service and the positive impact he made during his lifetime.
