Former Deputy Senate President and senatorial candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Delta Central Senatorial District, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege CFR has alleged that the Delta State government and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori are after his life and that of his family members by the government of Delta State.
Omo-Agege
who also is a lawyer and served as the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate
from 2019 to 2023 put out a statement by himself on his social media handle
where he raised concerns over the safety of both himself and that of his
household.
According to
him, he wrote this morning, “I note with grave concern the disturbing and
increasingly credible threats to my life and my family members in Delta State
emanating from the Delta State Government House, Asaba.
As I commence the campaigns, beginning today with stops in Uvwie Local Government Area, and the other seven (7) Local Government Areas, I want the Nigerian public, the international community, civil-society organisations, the media, and all security agencies to take formal notice:
Should
anything untoward happens to me or members of my family, the Nigerian
people and more particularly the Urhobo people of Delta Central senatorial
district should HOLD the Governor of Delta State Elder Sheriff Oborevwori
responsible and accountable”.
