‘I’d Rather Work Than Beg’ — Nollywood Actor Sunday Afolabi Opens Up On Hardship.

Veteran Nollywood actor Sunday Afolabi has opened up about the financial difficulties that forced him to take up several jobs outside acting, including commercial bus driving.

Afolabi made the revelation during an appearance on Talk to B Show, where he spoke about the challenges he has faced in recent years.

The actor explained that relocating to Badagry made it increasingly difficult for him to secure acting jobs in central Lagos, eventually forcing him to explore other means of earning a living.

According to him, he sold his car and subsequently worked as a motorcycle rider before venturing into other trades, including tailoring, solar installation and photography.

He also took up minibus driving as he searched for ways to support himself financially.

Afolabi stressed that he would rather engage in any legitimate work than resort to begging for food.

The veteran actor also appealed for assistance with accommodation closer to Lagos, saying the distance from Badagry had made it difficult for him to return to regular acting opportunities.

He further appealed for a reliable vehicle that he could use for ride-hailing services such as Uber.

Afolabi said having accommodation closer to Lagos and a dependable car would significantly improve his ability to move around and accept acting jobs.

His revelation highlights the financial challenges sometimes faced by veteran actors whose careers have been affected by limited opportunities and changing dynamics within the Nigerian entertainment industry.
