The management and legal team of Nigerian dancer Poco Lee have issued an official statement addressing allegations against him in the United Kingdom, urging the public to disregard unverified information surrounding the case.
In the statement, the team noted that the matter is currently before the court and stressed that allegations should not be interpreted as proof of guilt until due process has been completed.
The team also specifically addressed reports circulating online about alleged “drink spiking”, stating that the claim does not form part of the charges or allegations before the court.
“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking,’ amongst other allegations which do not form part of any of the allegations or charges before the court,” the statement read.
Poco Lee’s representatives urged members of the public and the media to stick to verified information and avoid introducing claims that are not contained in the actual court proceedings.
According to the team, spreading unverified details could contribute to misinformation and unfairly prejudice the parties involved in the case.
They added that further information would be communicated through official channels when appropriate.
