The couple had previously shared photos and videos of their son on social media while keeping his face hidden from the public.
However, to mark his first birthday, Priscilla and Juma Jux finally introduced Rakeem’s face to their followers alongside an emotional tribute celebrating his first year of life.
“We blinked, and a whole year passed,” they wrote.
The proud parents described their son as a cheeky, happy and intelligent child who has brought immense joy into their lives.
“To our dearest son, watching you grow has been the biggest blessing. You are the most cheeky, happy, cleverest little pumpkin.
“You light up every room you walk into, and we’re so proud to be your parents.”
The couple reflected on the joy of watching their son grow over the past 365 days, describing him as curious, smart, joyful and full of life.
They also offered prayers for his future, asking God to grant him good health, happiness and a purposeful life.
“We pray you grow up healthy, happy and full of purpose. We pray God guides your steps and orders your path.
“We pray you know how deeply you are loved, every single day.”
Describing Rakeem as their “greatest answered prayer”, the couple ended the heartfelt message by wishing him a happy first birthday.
“Happy 1st birthday, our sunshine. We love you endlessly,” they wrote.
