Veteran Hollywood actor Tim Curry, best known for his iconic portrayal of Dr Frank-N-Furter in the 1975 cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has died at the age of 80.
Curry’s death was first reported on Wednesday, August 26, with his longtime manager and friend, Marcia Hurwitz, confirming that the actor died at his home in Los Angeles.
The cause of his death had not been disclosed as of the time of the report.
Curry suffered a stroke in 2012, which left him using a wheelchair for the remainder of his life.
Beyond The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the British-born actor was celebrated for a number of memorable roles, including his portrayal of the terrifying Pennywise the Clown in the 1990 adaptation of Stephen King’s IT.
His career spanned several decades, earning him recognition as one of Hollywood’s most distinctive and versatile actors.
