Student Accused Of Killing University Friend Over £3,000 Debt & Fake Rolex.

A university student allegedly stabbed a fellow student to death following a dispute over a £3,000 debt and a fake Rolex, a court has heard.Khaleed Oladipo, 20, a third-year cyber security student at De Montfort University in Leicester, was allegedly attacked by 18-year-old Harper Dennis on 3 February while walking home from his girlfriend’s flat.

Leicester Crown Court heard that Oladipo was on the phone with his girlfriend when he allegedly confronted Dennis and asked why he had attacked him.

He subsequently collapsed and was taken to hospital, where he died.

Prosecutors told the court that the two men had previously been friends after meeting through online gaming and were members of the same Snapchat group.

Their relationship later deteriorated over an alleged financial dispute, with Dennis claiming that Oladipo owed him £3,000, the court heard.

The prosecution also alleged that Dennis had previously been given a Rolex by Oladipo to sell. The watch was later identified as counterfeit by a jeweller in London, leaving Dennis embarrassed and angry, according to the prosecution.

The court heard that messages exchanged between the pair demonstrated the deterioration in their relationship. In one alleged message, Dennis told Oladipo that he would “dedicate his life” to making him suffer.

On the day of the alleged killing, prosecutors said the two men became involved in a brief physical confrontation before Oladipo suffered the fatal injury.

Dennis was arrested later that night at his university accommodation. Police subsequently recovered several knives from his flat, along with clothing believed to have been worn during the incident.

Dennis denies murder and is claiming self-defence. He is also charged with possessing a bladed article and failing to provide the PIN for his mobile phone.

The trial, which is expected to last three weeks, is continuing.
