The President issued the directive on Monday, August 25, 2026, while condemning the abduction and reported killing of innocent citizens by criminal elements in the state.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu vowed that those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice.
“Terror will not cow Nigeria. We will defend our people, protect our communities, and uphold the sanctity of human life,” the President said.
Tinubu also commiserated with the families of those reportedly killed during the attack and assured the families of the abducted victims that the Federal Government would continue efforts to secure their safe return.
The President directed the Service Chiefs to provide him with regular updates on the rescue operation until all the abducted persons have been accounted for.
He further pledged the Federal Government’s support to the Niger State Government through increased security measures, as well as relief and recovery assistance for communities affected by the attack.
