‘Tinubu Doesn’t Live Large, He Walks To Office & Eats Once A Day’ — NRS Chairman.

The Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Zacch Adedeji, has sparked reactions online after claiming that President Bola Tinubu walks from his residence to his office and eats only once a day.

Adedeji made the remarks during an interview with Channels Television on Sunday while responding to questions about the lifestyles of political office holders amid the economic challenges facing Nigerians.

The NRS chairman defended Tinubu against allegations that the President lives an extravagant lifestyle, arguing that his daily routine does not reflect such claims.

According to Adedeji, Tinubu walks to his office from his residence and only uses a vehicle when travelling to the airport.

He further claimed that the President had not travelled outside Nigeria in the past three months and spends most of his time working on official documents.

Adedeji was also asked about reports concerning the number of Cadillac Escalades allegedly attached to the President's convoy.

Responding, he questioned why the use of such vehicles should be considered evidence of an extravagant lifestyle, arguing that the President could afford them.

"Mr President goes from home to office on foot, not even driving except when he is going to the airport. I don't know where you see the convoy. Before he became president, what is he riding?" Adedeji said.

He added that the cost of an Escalade should not be a source of concern given the office Tinubu occupies.

"How much is an Escalade that the president of Nigeria cannot afford? Please don't embarrass this country. What is living large?" he asked.

The NRS chairman also maintained that Tinubu had remained focused on his official responsibilities, saying the President had spent the past few months working rather than travelling or attending social events.

"In the last months, he has not even left the shores of this country, trekking and working. If you go there now, you will see him review one document or the other," he said.

Adedeji further claimed that the President eats only once a day and rarely attends social functions.

"So what is living large? The president eats once in a day. How many parties have you seen him at in the last three years? Tell me where you have seen him, whether on holiday or anywhere?" he added.

The remarks have since generated reactions online, with Nigerians debating the claims about the President's lifestyle amid the country's economic difficulties.
