Nollywood actor and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku has sparked a debate online after sharing her views on the true meaning of family.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, the actor argued that being biologically related to someone does not automatically make that person a true family member.
According to Mary Remmy, blood ties alone are not enough to define a genuine family bond.
She explained that a biological relative becomes a true family member when the relationship is built on love, loyalty, honesty, consistent presence and a sincere desire to see the other person happy and successful.
Her remarks have since generated reactions online, with social media users sharing differing views on whether family should be defined by blood ties or by the quality of the relationship between individuals.
