Buruk Hopes Osimhen Recovers In Time For Galatasaray’s Clash Against Trabzonspor.

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk is hopeful that Victor Osimhen will recover from injury in time to feature against Trabzonspor in Saturday’s crucial Turkish Super Lig clash at Papara Park.

The Nigerian striker has missed Galatasaray’s last two matches across all competitions due to injury, raising doubts over his availability for the weekend encounter.

Galatasaray suffered a 3-1 defeat to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League last Wednesday before bouncing back with a narrow 1-0 victory over Kocaelispor at RAMS Park on Sunday.

Trabzonspor will also be looking to make a statement against the defending champions despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to Konyaspor in their previous league outing.

Buruk believes Osimhen’s potential return, alongside other key players, could give Galatasaray a stronger squad for the difficult away fixture.

“It’s a tough away game. They have a very good squad, and their only desire will be to beat Galatasaray.

“We will prepare throughout the week. If our players can return and we can get Osimhen and Lemina ready, we will have a stronger squad,” Buruk said.

Osimhen has been sidelined with a groin injury that has kept him out of Galatasaray’s last two matches, with the club yet to confirm whether the Nigerian forward will be fit to face Trabzonspor.

Buruk remains hopeful that the striker and midfielder Mario Lemina will recover in time to strengthen his squad for the crucial encounter.
