Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has unveiled two separate squads for Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches and an international friendly against Russia.
The Nigeria Football Federation released the selections on Thursday, September 17, with the Super Eagles set to face Madagascar on September 25 and Guinea-Bissau on September 29 in their AFCON qualifying fixtures.
Nigeria will then take on Russia in an international friendly scheduled for October 6.
For the two AFCON qualifiers, Chelle named Arthur Okonkwo, Maduka Okoye and Stanley Nwabali as his goalkeeping options.
The defensive selection features Bruno Onyemaechi, Calvin Bassey, Olaoluwa Aina and Bright Osayi-Samuel, while Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka and Raphael Onyedika were included in midfield.
In attack, Victor Osimhen leads the line alongside Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon and Tolu Arokodare.
For the friendly against Russia, Chelle made several changes to the squad. Chibuzor Atata and Samuel James were added to the goalkeeping options alongside Nwabali.
The separate selections underline Chelle’s preparations for Nigeria’s competitive AFCON qualifiers as well as the subsequent international friendly.
