Kayode Fayemi Coordinating Group Working Against Tinubu’s Re-Election - Galadima Claims.

A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Buba Galadima, has alleged that former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, is coordinating a group of opposition figures working to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Galadima made the claim on Thursday night, September 24, during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

He expressed confidence in the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, while claiming that seven opposition figures were working together against Tinubu’s re-election bid.

“I also want to say publicly that I am one of the group of opposition candidates, seven of us, under the coordination of Governor Fayemi Kayode, working on that, and we are making progress,” Galadima said.

When asked what the group was working towards, he responded: “To defeat Tinubu.”

The claim has not been independently verified.

A media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who shared a clip of Galadima’s interview, said he would await a response from Fayemi before accepting the allegation.

Fayemi, a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has previously criticised aspects of the party’s leadership and policies.

In March 2026, the APC National Secretary called on Fayemi to resign from the party if he no longer believed in its ideals and warned that disciplinary action could be taken against him over alleged anti-party activities.
