Olayinka made the call in a post on his social media handles while reacting to the arrest of the woman, who was allegedly using her seven-year-old daughter to produce adult content for publication on TikTok.
The suspect was reportedly making money from the content and, following her arrest, allegedly told investigators that she had made $300 from publishing the material.
Reacting to the development, Olayinka questioned the adequacy of safeguards on social media platforms, particularly in protecting children from exploitation and abuse.
He called for urgent measures to address the alleged misuse of TikTok for the distribution of exploitative content involving minors, including the possibility of reviewing the platform’s operations in Nigeria or banning it altogether.
The call comes amid the ongoing investigation into the woman and the circumstances surrounding the alleged exploitation of her child.
