The command’s spokesperson, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, disclosed the development on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
According to him, the woman’s body was discovered by the hotel management in the early hours of the day.
Eitokpah said the deceased was found lying lifeless on the floor, with samples of drugs and other substances reportedly found around her.
He added that marks of violence were observed around the woman’s neck, prompting the police to commence an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The police subsequently cordoned off the area, recovered the body and deposited it at the morgue for further examination.
Eitokpah said the hotel receptionist had been arrested in connection with the incident, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend the woman’s male companion, who reportedly fled the scene.
The police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and determine the events leading to the incident.
