Gadaka made the statement while speaking at a campaign rally ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APC chairman reportedly told women to stand up to their husbands if they attempted to stop them from voting for the ruling party.
He further said he was prepared to pay the dowry of any woman who ended her marriage for refusing to comply with her husband’s directive against voting for the APC.
In his words:
“If your husband won't allow you to vote for APC, stand up to him and seek a divorce. If you leave the marriage, I will pay your dowry and marry you.”
The comment has drawn attention amid early political activities and mobilisation by political parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
Gadaka’s remarks have also raised questions about the extent to which political loyalty should influence decisions within marriages and families.
