Lagos Gov’s Aide Berates Solomon Buchi Over Criticism Of Lagos.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile, has criticised social commentator Solomon Buchi over his recent remarks about Lagos.

Buchi had advised foreigners visiting Nigeria, particularly Caucasian and Chinese tourists, to explore states outside Lagos if they wanted to experience the country’s culture and heritage.

In a video shared on Thursday, September 3, Buchi claimed that Lagos offered little beyond “begging, clubbing, fake life” and what he described as “a den of adulterers and fornicators”.

He argued that cities such as Ibadan, Uyo and Abuja offered visitors a better representation of Nigeria’s heritage and culture.

His comments sparked a reaction from Akosile, who accused the social commentator of displaying bitterness towards Lagos.

Taking to X, the Lagos governor’s aide questioned what prompted Buchi to make what he described as an attack on the state.

“I wonder what you guys smoke before you set up your ring lights and cameras, that makes you vomit diatribes,” Akosile wrote.

The exchange has generated reactions online, with social media users weighing in on the contrasting views about Lagos’ image, culture and appeal to international visitors.
