The actor reportedly died after months of battling breast cancer.
The President of the Ogun State chapter of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Owolabi Ajasa, announced her death in a statement shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday afternoon, September 1, 2026.
Ajasa expressed appreciation to everyone who supported Kareem during her illness through financial contributions, prayers and encouragement.
He said her death came despite the efforts made to support her treatment, adding that her colleagues and loved ones had submitted to the will of God.
He wrote that the association was grateful to everyone who contributed towards the actress’ treatment before her death.
Ajasa also prayed for the repose of Kareem’s soul and asked God to give her family, colleagues and loved ones the strength to cope with the loss.
Kareem’s death has since sparked an outpouring of grief among colleagues and fans, who have taken to social media to mourn the actress and celebrate her contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
