President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante”.
In a birthday message issued by the State House on Monday, September 21, 2026, Tinubu praised the First Lady for standing by him through difficult periods and providing counsel, support and prayers throughout their marriage.
“Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage,” the president said.
Tinubu said Oluremi had remained a source of strength during challenging periods, adding that she often understood his concerns even when he could not put them into words.
He also highlighted her role in supporting children, widows, elderly people and women farmers through philanthropic initiatives, including the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative.
“Nigerians know you for your compassion, kindness, generosity of spirit and steadfast faith,” he said, adding that her advocacy had also extended to people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases.
Reflecting on their marriage, Tinubu said the couple had travelled a long road together, sharing difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayers.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you,” he said. “Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you.”
The president thanked Oluremi for the life they had built together and prayed that God would grant her many more years in good health and happiness.
“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi,” Tinubu said.
