The comedian, who was honoured as Best Stand-Up Comedian at the ceremony, found herself at the centre of online controversy after joining Timaya on stage during his performance.
Explaining what happened, Real Warri Pikin said Timaya had asked for a woman to join him on stage. Although she initially declined because she did not want to jump, she eventually agreed to participate.
According to the comedian, Timaya assured her that she would be fine. However, the performance took an unexpected turn when the singer lifted her during the routine.
While she said the moment was entertaining for those at the event, the reaction online was markedly different, with some social media users accusing her of crossing boundaries.
Addressing the controversy in a video, Real Warri Pikin appealed to Nigerians to be lenient with her and accepted responsibility for her actions.
“Make una take am easy, I beg. I’m sorry. I take full responsibility of my actions.”
She also acknowledged that some people may have reacted out of genuine concern, but said other comments were based on assumptions about her character.
“I understand where una dey come from. Maybe some people are just genuinely concerned.”
The comedian stressed that the incident did not reflect who she was and pleaded with Nigerians not to judge her too harshly over the viral moment.
Real Warri Pikin further clarified that she had no intention of disrespecting her husband or behaving inappropriately. She described the incident as an awkward moment that occurred during what was intended to be an entertaining stage performance.
The controversy has since generated widespread discussion online, with fans and social media users offering differing views on the interaction between the comedian and the singer.
