Sabinus reacted after a video showing a group of youths allegedly preventing the owner of a Tesla Cybertruck from leaving the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, went viral on social media.
In the video, the youths, also referred to as ‘Omonile’, were initially seen gathering around the luxury electric vehicle to take photographs.
However, the situation reportedly escalated when the owner attempted to drive away.
According to an eyewitness, Femi Pereira, who recorded the incident, the group allegedly surrounded the vehicle and demanded money from the driver before allowing him to leave.
The situation reportedly became intense, forcing the vehicle owner to abandon the Cybertruck at the stadium amid the confrontation.
Reacting to the incident, Sabinus criticised what he described as the growing prevalence of ‘Agbero’ activities in Lagos.
He wrote: “If I dey talk about these agbero pandemic for Lagos, una go begin attack person.
“Just look at grown men and people’s bread winners making a mess of themselves.
“I don wash my hand for this matter.”
The incident has sparked reactions on social media, with some users expressing concern over harassment and intimidation allegedly faced by motorists and visitors in parts of Lagos.
