Olayode, in a post shared on Instagram, said women who do not want marriage or are content with being single should be free to make their own choices.
However, she stressed that women who desire marriage should also be allowed to express their wishes without being mocked or shamed.
According to the actor, not every woman who wants a husband is desperate, while being excited about marriage does not make a woman less ambitious or suggest that she has nothing else going on in her life.
She acknowledged that marriage can be challenging and that some unions end painfully, but noted that some people genuinely believe marriage is beautiful and want to experience it.
Olayode also recalled an incident at a salon where she offered her unsolicited opinion after hearing some women criticise another woman for expressing her desire to get married.
She said the situation later reminded her of a “BRIDE” swimsuit gifted to her by a friend in 2024, which she found amusing because of the timing.
The actor maintained that people have the right to choose not to marry or decide that marriage is not for them, but should extend the same freedom to those who desire it.
She added that women can desire different aspects of life, including faith, purpose, career, impact, financial success, friendship, family and a fulfilling marriage.
Olayode concluded by wishing women who desire marriage a good partner and a union worthy of their aspirations.
