Gunmen Kill Former Youth Leader, Injure Two In Plateau Attacks.

Gunmen have killed Rwas Paul Danladi, a youth leader and former chairman of the Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM) in Gashish District, and injured two other people in separate attacks in Plateau State.

Danladi was reportedly attacked at about 6pm on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, near Rantis Village along the Gashish-Barkin Ladi Road while riding his motorcycle towards Barkin Ladi.

The BYM confirmed his death on Thursday in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Rwang Tengwong.

The association condemned the killing and expressed condolences to Danladi’s family, friends and the wider Gashish community, describing him as a respected community leader.

It also reported separate attacks in parts of the Berom communities on Wednesday, which left two people injured.

The victims were identified as Mafeng Samuel Lamba, who was attacked around Gwom-Ajang in Foron and taken to Jos University Teaching Hospital for treatment, and Bitrus Pam Dadon, who was attacked along Sho Road, where his motorcycle was reportedly stolen.

The association called on the Plateau State Government and relevant security agencies to investigate Danladi’s killing, arrest those responsible and strengthen security surveillance along vulnerable roads and in affected communities.

It specifically urged authorities to step up security in Barkin Ladi, Jos South, Riyom and other areas affected by the attacks.

The incidents have renewed calls for improved security measures to protect residents and prevent further attacks in communities across Plateau State.
