Jaruma Reportedly In Police Custody Over Social Media Posts, Faces Cybercrime Charges.

Nigerian businesswoman and social media personality Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, popularly known as Jaruma, has reportedly been in police custody since Monday over social media posts relating to an alleged disagreement involving Seyi Tinubu and a woman she described as his girlfriend.

According to SaharaReporters, documents obtained from the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja indicate that Jaruma has been granted administrative bail, subject to conditions that have reportedly been difficult to meet.

The bail conditions, dated 23 October 2026, require two sureties. One must be a federal civil servant on Grade Level 15 or above, while the other must be a business owner with landed property in Abuja.

A charge sheet obtained by the publication also indicates that the police have filed a two-count case against the social media personality under the Cybercrimes Act.

Prosecutors allegedly accused Jaruma of using her TikTok account between July and September 2026 to publish abusive messages and claims described as false about Rayan Ghassan Kamal, said to be Seyi Tinubu’s personal assistant.

Sources cited by the publication alleged that the bail conditions were deliberately made difficult to prevent her release before the weekend. However, the allegation has not been independently established.

The report also stated that a bodyguard attached to Seyi Tinubu, who was allegedly linked to information shared with Jaruma, appeared at the Cybercrime Centre on Monday but was not detained.

Jaruma is reportedly expected to be arraigned on Monday.

The charge sheet, according to the publication, does not name Seyi Tinubu as the complainant or establish that he personally ordered Jaruma’s detention.
