A magistrates’ court in Kano State has ordered the remand of Musa Umar in a correctional facility over his alleged involvement in the killing of Saminu Haruna Tudun Bojuwa following a dispute over motorcycles.
Umar was arraigned before Magistrate Hauwa Abba Musa of Magistrates’ Court No. 27, Nomansland, Kano, on charges of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.
The prosecutor, Barrister H. M. Ado, informed the court that a fresh charge had been filed and requested that it be read to the defendant.
The court subsequently directed its clerk, Muhammad Tudun Wada, to read the charges to Umar.
According to the allegations, the defendant conspired with another person, who was not before the court, to stab the deceased with a knife, resulting in his death.
The incident reportedly arose from a disagreement over the sharing of motorcycles allegedly donated by a politician to some individuals.
The suspects were said to have disagreed over the distribution of the motorcycles after claiming that one of the motorcycles had been jointly given to them.
Following the arraignment, the magistrate ordered Umar’s remand in a correctional facility and adjourned the case until November 3, 2026, for further proceedings.
The allegations have yet to be established in court.
