The incident occurred at about 11:30pm on Monday, October 5, 2026, throwing residents of the estate into panic as the attackers reportedly moved from house to house in search of victims.
Abdulladir Bello, the husband of the abducted pregnant woman, confirmed the incident, saying he was in Abuja when his wife called to inform him that some people were attempting to force their way into their compound.
Bello said he initially tried to contact the police but was unable to reach them before contacting the military, which he said promptly deployed personnel to the area.
“I was in Abuja when she called around 11:30pm to tell me that thieves were trying to force their way into the compound.
“So I tried calling the police because I was confused, but their lines were not getting through. I then reached out to the military and they sent their men,” he said.
According to Bello, the attackers fled with his pregnant wife after breaking into a neighbouring house, where they abducted a man, his wife and their six-month-old child.
He said the abductors later contacted him and demanded a ransom for the release of his wife.
Bello commended the military for its prompt response and urged residents to continue working with security agencies to address insecurity in their communities.
A resident whose house was also attacked but who escaped with his family said the attackers entered several homes in the estate and searched for residents to abduct.
The resident, who said he moved to the estate about four years ago after bandits terrorised his community in Keke B area, said the latest incident had renewed fears among residents.
“Now they have followed us here again, but we thank God nobody was killed. We pray that those abducted will return safely to their families,” he said.
The latest incident occurred days after suspected bandits attacked Babban Saura (PW) community in Chikun Local Government Area, where a man was killed and several residents, including his wife and children, were abducted.
