Simon Page Brings Students, Alumni Together At ‘Sip & Connect’ In Lagos.

Simon Page College of Marketing has brought together members of its student, faculty and alumni community for the second edition of SIP & Connect, a networking and social gathering designed to strengthen relationships within the institution’s growing professional community.

Held on Friday, October 23, 2026, in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, the event was themed “Room for More” and provided an informal atmosphere for current students, alumni and other members of the Simon Page community to unwind, reconnect, meet new people, and exchange ideas beyond the classroom.

Rather than follow the format of a conventional professional networking event, SIP & Connect blended social interaction with games, team activities and business-oriented challenges that encouraged participants to think, collaborate and compete.

Among the activities were brand-name recall games that tested participants’ familiarity with well-known brands, as well as a 15-minute business strategy presentation that challenged participants to develop and articulate ideas within a limited time.

Other team challenges and interactive games added a lighter dimension to the evening, giving participants opportunities to engage with one another outside their usual professional and academic settings.

Speaking on the thinking behind the initiative, Princewill Omoroguiwa, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Simon Page College of Marketing, said SIP & Connect was conceived as more than another networking event.

“Professional development does not happen only in the classroom. People also grow through relationships, conversations, shared experiences and the networks they build around themselves,” Omoroguiwa said.

“That is part of what SIP & Connect is about. We wanted to create a relaxed environment where our students and alumni can interact across different levels, get to know one another better, align on opportunities, and, at the same time, engage in activities that stimulate some of the thinking and creativity required in business.”

He said the theme, “Room for More,” reflects the College’s belief that there should always be room for new relationships, new ideas, new opportunities and continued personal and professional growth.

“The Simon Page community continues to grow, and we want people who come through the College to see themselves as part of a community that extends beyond the period of their studies. There should always be room for another connection, another conversation, another collaboration, and another opportunity to learn from one another,” Omoroguiwaadded.

SIP & Connect also created an opportunity for alumni and current students to interact across different stages of their careers, allowing younger professionals to connect with people already applying their knowledge and experience within the marketplace.

For Simon Page College of Marketing, the initiative forms part of efforts to foster a stronger community around learning and professional development by creating opportunities for interaction that complement its formal academic and professional programmes.

The first edition of SIP & Connect established the event as a social meeting point for members of the Simon Page community, while the second edition expanded on the idea with more opportunities for participation, conversation and team engagement.

With “Room for More,” the College reinforced a simple message at the heart of the gathering: professional communities become stronger when people have opportunities not only to learn together, but also to interact, exchange experiences and build relationships that can continue beyond the classroom.

The event was attended by professionals inmarketing and sales, marketing communication, corporate communication, arts and creative business, media, ICT, and more.
