Yari Says Tinubu Is Doing His Best To Tackle Nigeria’s Security Challenges.

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, has said President Bola Tinubu should not be held solely responsible for Nigeria’s persistent security challenges.

Yari made the remarks on Monday, 19 October 2026, during a visit to Kebbi State, where he met Governor Nasir Idris, traditional rulers and other party leaders in Birnin Kebbi.

The APC chieftain acknowledged the security challenges facing the country but maintained that the Tinubu administration was making efforts to address them.

He argued that former President Muhammadu Buhari, a retired Army general, also made efforts to combat insecurity during his administration but was unable to eliminate the problem completely.

“If a retired general did his best but could not completely tackle insecurity, what do you expect of President Tinubu, who is not a general? Nevertheless, the President has done his utmost best to address the security challenges confronting the country,” Yari said.

His remarks came amid continuing concerns over insecurity in different parts of Nigeria, including attacks by insurgents, banditry and kidnappings.

Yari’s comments reflected his defence of the current administration’s response to the security situation, while acknowledging that the challenges remained unresolved.
