Bianca Ojukwu Pays Emotional Tribute To Late Husband On What Would Have Been His 93rd Birthday.

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu, has paid an emotional tribute to her late husband, former Biafran leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, on what would have been his 93rd birthday.

Bianca shared the heartfelt message on social media, reflecting on the pain of his absence and the memories they shared during their marriage.

She said she and their children continued to miss him, adding that his absence remained deeply felt, particularly on special occasions such as his birthday.

In her tribute, the minister expressed her longing to see his smile, hear his voice, hold his hand and celebrate another birthday with him.

“Happy Heavenly Birthday, My Dearest.

“Not a day goes by that we don't miss you. Today, especially, I feel the emptiness of your absence and wish I could see your smile, hear your voice, hold your hand, and celebrate another birthday by your side,” she wrote.

Bianca added that although their children had grown older, they continued to cherish the love, memories and special moments they shared with their father.

“The children are now grown but still hold on to the love, memories, and beautiful moments we all shared. These remain strong anchors in trying times,” she added.

She also expressed hope that her late husband was being celebrated in heaven, praying for his continued peaceful rest until they meet again.

“I hope heaven is celebrating you as beautifully as I would have here on earth. Until we meet again, Dearest, continue to rest peacefully. You are loved, missed, and remembered today and always,” she wrote.

Bianca and the late Igbo leader were married for 17 years before his death on 26 November 2011.

Ojukwu, a prominent figure in Nigeria's history, served as the leader of the defunct Republic of Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War between 1967 and 1970.
