Ghana Court Sentences Tricycle Rider To 14 Years’ Hard Labour Over Child Abuse.

A 29-year-old tricycle rider, Naah Mashood, has been sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment with hard labour for defiling a three-year-old girl in the Wa Municipality of Ghana.

Mashood was convicted by the Wa High Court after being found guilty of the offence following a full trial.

The incident occurred at Tiegber, where the convict had been contracted by the victim’s parents to transport her to and from school.

According to the case details, Mashood lured the child to an isolated location on February 23, 2026, and sexually abused her inside his tricycle, locally known as a Cambuu.

He was arrested on February 24 following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.

After investigations, Mashood was arraigned before the Wa District Magistrate Court before the case proceeded to the Wa High Court for trial.

At the conclusion of the proceedings, the court found him guilty and, on October 30, sentenced him to 14 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.
