Shigo Arts Edutainment Collaborates With Guild Of Nigerian Dancers To Celebrate "Day Of The African Child" 2025.

The atmosphere was electrifying as creatives, performers, students, and art lovers gathered for The International Day of The African Child June 16th, 2025
Planning And Budgeting for Children's Right: Progress Since 2010.

Organised by Shigo Arts Edutainment in collaboration with Guild of Nigeria Dancers (GOND) and Grenville Schools the just-concluded event lived up to its promise, delivering a soul-stirring African drum workshop, dance, poetry, music. watching a short presentation video by the youngest photographer in Nigeria Anu Oluwapo Adedeji and conversation starts in a unique celebration of humanity.

Held on June 16, the event brings young talents of all ages and backgrounds who poured heart and soul into performances that echoed the struggles and strength of An African Child. the children each act tells a lot and it was very edutaining.

Anchored by the lively and engaging Olalekan Akinruli as compère, the event kicked off with African drum workshop with Grenville School student, Nigerian Children Cultural Heritage (NCCH)  Ikuesan Florence Oyinade,  Ikuesan Sarah Favour.  The audience was  moved by the inspiring video of the youngest Photographer who encourage everyone to believe in what they do and make sure it's impactful because that is the purpose of existence. 

A major highlight of the day was the stunning performance by students from Grenville Schools Dance Club and African percussion club, Lavender Preparatory School, Viraj Mishra and Avyaan Mishra,  Ayandunni Precious and  Ayanwunmi alongside @SAMDEK Talking Training, Nigeria Children Cultural Heritage (NCCH). And our poet Priceless. The drumming, rhythm, and coordinated movements, they all delivered a powerful dance that drew applause from the crowd. It’s beautiful to see the next generation already telling such important stories through Arts.

Convener of the event, Oyeniyi Gabriel Nsikak-Abasi Oluwaseun was so excited as he addressed the crowd at the end of the programme.
Shigo Art is not just a platform, it’s a movement.  using theatre as a tool for societal development and edutainment.
The success of the international day Of The african child is proof that arts meets purpose, the result is nothing short of magic. With workshop, performances, exhibitions that tell stories that can't be forgotten the event has left memory that will forever be in our heart.
Shigo Arts Edutainment has always project Arts as a tool for societal development so Nigeria can regain it's place as the Giant of Africa through the power of theatre for development (TFD).
