The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development in Bauchi State, Hajiya Zainab Takko, has been removed from office.
The decision received the approval of Governor Bala Mohammed and was made public on Monday through a brief statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.
“In that respect, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs & Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko, has been relieved of her appointment with immediate effect,” the statement reads.
Gidado further stated: “The Governor thanks the Honourable Commissioner for her services to the State and wishes her success in her future endeavors.”
The statement referred to the development as part of “minor cabinet changes” but did not disclose any specific reason for her dismissal.
