Former Petroleum Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has refuted recent allegations circulating on social media about her, describing them as “false, malicious, and a calculated attempt to smear her name.”

In a statement issued on Thursday by her family, legal representatives, and the Bayelsa Youth Association, the former minister stated that she did not make the remarks attributed to her and has no financial connections with the individuals mentioned in the online publications.

“This is not the first time that false narratives have been planted in the media to distort facts and damage her reputation,” the statement noted, emphasising that Mrs. Alison-Madueke is determined to clear her name through appropriate legal procedures.

The statement appealed to both the media and the public to confirm information before circulating it and urged the relevant authorities to investigate those behind what the group described as a “campaign of falsehood”.

Mrs Alison-Madueke reaffirmed her decision to resolve any disagreements through due legal process rather than in the “court of public opinion”.
