The United States government has stated that prominent Nigerians involved in corruption may be denied entry visas as part of its ongoing efforts to combat graft and uphold accountability.
This information was shared by the U.S. Mission in Nigeria through its official X (formerly Twitter) page on Monday.
“Fighting corruption knows no borders or limits on accountability. Even when high-profile individuals engage in corruption, they can be barred from receiving U.S. visas,” the U.S. government said.
This stance aligns with former President Donald Trump’s strict visa policies aimed at controlling the number of immigrants entering the country.
Since President Trump began his second term in office, over two million undocumented immigrants have been deported from the United States, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
