The leadership of the Nigerian Army School of Signals (NASS) has applauded Globacom for its steadfast devotion to Nigeria’s progress and rejuvenation.
The Commandant of the school, Major General Kennedy Osemwegie, expressed this while on a courtesy visit to Globacom’s Lagos corporate headquarters. He observed that the telecommunications giant has, since its inception more than two decades ago, unfailingly projected an inherently Nigerian identity. He further asserted that Globacom has been “extending the frontiers of who a Nigerian should be through its Nigeria-centered focus”.
Emphasizing the importance of synergy between civilian and military institutions, the Commandant expressed interest in exploring a partnership with the Glo Foundation to support the school’s mission in both academic and professional development.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to identify areas in which Globacom, through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, Glo Foundation, could bolster the school’s mission.
Accompanying Major General Osemwegie were other senior officials from the signals school.
He noted that the Nigerian Army Signal School “is the hub of training for the Nigerian Army personnel in terms of ICT and communications and also some other paramilitary organizations,” while emphasizing the institution’s interest in exploring collaborations with corporate organizations like Globacom to better fulfill its mandate.
In response, Mrs. Mojisola Ashieru Sweet, Director of Strategy and Board Affairs, who received the delegation on behalf of Globacom’s management, reaffirmed the company's pride in being a wholly Nigerian brand committed to delivering transformative innovations to society. She also expressed Globacom’s readiness to partner the school in key strategic areas.
Among the areas of potential collaboration highlighted was the deployment of Globacom’s Learning Management System (LMS), a very important module of the Glo Smart Learning Suite. This customizable platform empowers institutions to craft and disseminate digital contents, orchestrate live tutorials, administer online assessments, and generate performance analytics, all the while embedding communication features such as instant messaging and video conferencing to enhance the digital learning experience.
Additionally, it integrates an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) framework for seamless institutional administration, along with bundled data packages to ensure continuous student access to the platform.
